I took a quick trip to Madison to spend the weekend with my daughter, Natalie. We had great fun shopping, dining, and just catching up.
I always love my trips to Madison. Get up early, grab my Wisconsin coffee mug, turn the radio up really loud to my favorite songs, head west to Lake Winnebago, and maybe see some ice shanties gleaming in the morning sun.
When I was ready to face today’s drive home, I was so torn… should I go, should I stay? The Packers were still playing!!! And they weren’t doing so well 🙁
Our family does have a strong belief in America’s Team though, and I was sporting my best good luck sweatshirt and scarf! So, off I went, knowing darn well that my radio announcers wouldn’t disappoint. This wasn’t my first Packer game via radio. I wasn’t out of Natalie’s neighborhood and they scored a touchdown. And then another!!! Woohoo!!! A Packer Win!
As I left Fond du Lac along Lake Winnebago and turned up Hwy 151 heading east, I knew I had to pull over into the wayside. The sun wasn’t near to setting yet, but the sky had turned a fantastic shade of gold in celebration!
Go Pack Go!
